First up they played Orara High and had a resounding 38-2 win. Jessica Bailey, Aoife Carey and Jamika Macauley-Ernest were standouts in this one – winning the rebounds and scoring most of the points.
Next they played Grafton High in the closest game of the day. It was a low scoring affair with both teams defence proving difficult to break down. Grafton got out to a ten point lead but the girls came back in the final quarter, going down 19-18 in the end. Willow Neal and Tahani Berger led the come-back but it wasn’t quite enough.
Tahani Berger was selected in the Open Girls MNC team, a great achievement considering she is still only in Year 8. Well done Tahani and all the girls for their effort and attitude on the day!
