This provides welcome shade on the really hot days and some cover during the rain, centre coordinator Nicolle Scott said.
"Our Learn to Swim is held in the part of the 18m pool that has been covered by the new shade sails so it is providing a much more protected and sun-safe area for the children," Nicolle said.
One impressed pool patron is Annie Arnold.
"The addition of shade across part of the medium pool has given so many the giddyup to get back to the pool," she said. "How nice it is to relax in the pool, in the shade."
"This provides great protection for the swim classes, all those little swimmers learning one of life’s most important lessons.
"Thank you Bellingen Council's Michael Grieve for this project’s success. I so look forward to part shade on the large pool one day as well, hint hint!!
"Truly folks there is a great team keeping this a safe, clean and friendly community asset, one to be proud of. Grab your togs, remember to slip slop and slap, do a lap, float on your back, you're sure to leave feeling a whole lot better. I certainly do," Annie said.
