These conditions obviously made a fast pool with five records tumbling.
Rebecca Hodgson broke two of Talissa Alford’s records in the 50 metres breastroke and the 50 metres butterfly, swimming an amazing 32.74 in the Fly which many freestyle swimmers would like to swim.
The other three records went to Patrick Carey in the 50 metres butterfly, Jesse Case in the 50 metres breaststroke and Niam Noble also in the 50 metres breaststroke .
Participation was high and the battle for age champions fierce. Champions on the day were
12 years girls – Amalia Davis 12 years boys – Josh Upsall
13 years girls – Yasmin Ball 13 years boys – Patrick Carey
14 years girls – Jamika McCauley-Earnest 14 years boys – Niam Noble
15 years girls – Laeli Couper 15 years boys – Lewis Pagulayan-McCabe
16 years girls – Rebecca Hodgson 16 years boys –Jacob McBaron
17 years girls – Aleisha Alford 17 years boys – Jackson Rose
