The training sessions have been well planned and well received by the 30-40 players in attendance, and the emergence of some fresh faces plus the return of some local players has the club keenly anticipating season 2019.
Here’s a snippet of the Magpies training on Tuesday night:
The Magpies are very much a community-based club and welcome any new and/or returning players to get involved.
Under 18s Coach Matt Freebairn says for players wanting to get involved with the under 18s, the time is now. Training is Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm.
The Magpies will be competing in the Hoey Moey 9s Tournament in Coffs Harbour on Saturday February 16, closely followed by the Annual Army day to he held on Saturday February 23.
If this wasn’t enough to get the players fit and firing for Round 1, the club will also play a pre-season trial against Uralla on March 2, followed by a last trial against the Port Macquarie Sharks at the Graveyard on Saturday March 23.
2019 Social Membership is now available with supporter’s gear, free home game entry and other benefits included in the $60 fee. Those interested are encouraged to get in contact with the club via Facebook, email or phone.
Likewise if there are any sponsors and/or business that would like to get involved, please don’t hesitate to contact the club President Trent Matthews on 0403546154 or email Bellingensrlfc@gmail.com or visit the Facebook page Bellingen Valley Dorrigo Rugby League Football club.
