Last night, Sunday, tutors and campers joined the committee at a welcome dinner held at the Old Butter Factory.
Micklo Jarrett welcomed everyone to Gumbaynggirr country and set a fine musical tone by teaching everyone a song and a few more Aboriginal words … apart from koala and kangaroo!
Bellingen High School’s string quintet provided beautiful background music to an evening that was filled with laughter, as old friends met up and new ones felt their way into the vibe of the event.
Organisers breathed a sigh of relief that everything had been cleaned and repaired on time following the havoc wreaked on Bellingen High School by the December 20 storm.
And for those of you who are not involved but would still like to be part of the fun, the traditional Party in the Park in the Maam Gaduying meeting area opposite the Memorial Hall is on this Thursday from 5.30pm. Join campers for an evening of music, dance and song, not to mention a range of delicious food available to enjoy.
