There will be music and a family picnic from 6pm followed by a screening of the original BMX Bandits (1983), featuring a young Nicole Kidman, from 7.45pm.
“We see this as an opportunity for the community and visitors to the area to come together and enjoy a night of family friendly entertainment in a beautiful natural environment,” Legs 11 Arts told the Courier Sun.
“Our last outdoor cinema with E.T. was such a success we thought we’d offer another outdoor screening of a great 80s classic these Christmas holidays.”
There will be a range of food stalls at the event and refreshments available including tea & coffee, local Deva chocolate, popcorn and a sausage sizzle hosted by the Urunga Lions Club.
Organisers encourage people to support the food stalls and the surrounding hospitality businesses for the event.
This community event is by gold coin donation with proceeds going back into the costs of the event. People are asked to bring their own picnic blankets, cushions, chairs etc and to take their rubbish with them when they leave.
Wet/windy weather venue is the Urunga Senior Citizens Hall, Bowra Street Urunga (behind the fish and chip shop).
