This is the first time the four-day program has been run in our area; previously parents had to travel to Coffs Harbour or Scotts Head for it.
If you have kids aged 5 to 12, this is the perfect opportunity to get them into a fun, active sport that will not only give them an understanding of water awareness and surf safety but also help them develop skills that will leave them stoked for life.
nudie SurfGroms adopts a positive, supportive approach to learning and uses fun, group-based games to encourage participation.
It teaches core skills in the ocean across five incremental skill levels, as well as fundamental Ocean Awareness and Beach Safety skills such as surf survival and rescue techniques; basic first aid skills; and about varying surf conditions at the beach.
There are limited places and the first session is on Thursday December 20, so jump on and book a place now
MiniGroms (ages 5-8) runs 8.30am-10am 20-23 Dec and SuperGroms (ages 9-12) is on the same days at 10:30am-12:00pm.
The four-day program, which costs $145, will be repeated on January 3 and January 17.
