Tahnee Beelitz and Jade Cochran faced a three-person judging panel earlier this month, with Tahnee winning by a narrow margin.
Tahnee is a member of a local farming family and works for Ray White Rural, and with her partner, Jesse, she also runs beef cattle and helps manage a blueberry operation.
Jade is studying Rural Science at the University of New England, works weekends on local dairy farms and has a lifetime association with horses.
A spokesperson for the judges said little separated Tahnee and Jade during the judging, which was held at an afternoon tea attended by local residents and sponsors.
The judges were impressed by both women’s poise, attitude and knowledge.
Tahnee will represent the Dorrigo region at the next level of NSW Showgirl judging to be held at Narrabri on February 23.
Dorrigo Show runs from November 23-25.
It will be officially opened by former society president, Bruce Block, a long term beef farmer who has been an active supporter of the Dorrigo Show for many years.
