Chief executive officer Bethany Langford said winning the Community Transport of the Year again is a great honour and one which can be attributed to hard work by the whole team.
“We were again thrilled at the announcement which is the highest achievement for any community transport service and I would like to thank all our staff, volunteers and our clients for helping us in getting to and maintaining this standard,” Ms Langford said.
“The awards are judged by an independent panel who were impressed by our creative transport solutions for customers providing them with access, inclusion, equality and independence for all,” she said.
“Ongoing commitment to our continuing improvement strategies including introducing a ‘Train-a-Driver’ program ensuring our volunteer drivers meet standards, our extension of social outings offered to customers and our work with increasing outputs was also acknowledged by the judges,” she said.
The Community Transport Company provided over 90,000 trips to its customers in the Coffs Harbour, Bellingen and Nambucca Valley in the past year.
“Our success is no doubt due to our teamwork, everyone from the Board, staff, volunteers and the local community is behind our mission to provide access for all. I am very proud of everyone in our organisation for all the hard work and commitment they have shown and we have become industry leaders because of that commitment.”
