Gone Fishing Day was an absolute blast down at Urunga on Sunday October 14, with more than 100 people turning up to celebrate, learn about and participate in Australia's favourite pastime – fishing.

Anglers of all capabilities came along to wet a line, and the most rewarding part of the day was being there and witnessing so many people catch their first fish.
A massive thank you to the great bunch of volunteers who helped out teaching some of the fundamentals, they spent hours upon hours down on the water with all the participants helping create lifelong memories for them.
We also need to say a huge thanks to the NSW DPI Fisheries for offering us the opportunity to host the Gone Fishing Day - Urunga event. They kindly supplied us with 30 of the rods and reels to use, and we hope their new owners enjoy them!
We sure are keen to bring it back again in 2019 bigger, so keep an eye out for that!
