Now it's congratulations from all her bowling friends to Ros Hancock who has kept the tradition alive by winning in 2018.
The Urunga club was represented by seven bowlers all of whom performed well and were a credit to their club. Ros Hancock who has been playing for only the last couple of years survived five matches to advance to a tough final match against Pam Hughes of C.ex who had the advantage of her home green.
Trailing in the mid parts of the game but, quiet achiever that she is, Ros played inspired bowls and picked up her score to level it going into the last end at 23 all when she brilliantly placed two bowls on the jack. Pam tried unsuccessfully to dislodge the bowls and Ros emerged the winner 25 to 23.
