It was a happy, fun day that saw the Gleniffer Hall filled to bursting with buyers and sellers, the barbeque and the kitchen at full throttle all day and the predicted deluge wait until late afternoon.

Committee member Barb Moore said Saturday’s car boot sale and markets were a huge success, both financially and also for the community.
“We raised about $1500 for much needed repairs to hall facilities … but more than that, everyone just seemed so happy,” Barb said.
“Numbers and takings were perhaps down a bit on previous years, perhaps some people didn’t turn up because of the predicted rain, but those who did had a wonderful time and scored some great bargains.”
Clothes for all ages, timber products, fresh produce and all sorts of miscellaneous treasures were on sale.
And there is no denying the scones that kept on coming, fresh from the kitchen (thanks to Violet Preston and her grand-daughter Ellie), were not to be missed.
The funds will go towards addressing overdue repairs to kitchen appliances and also water supply issues.
Sincere thanks to everyone who made the day the success it was.
