Both teams had a great season, with Division 3 women finishing second on the ladder to Macksville Stingers and Over 30s women also in second spot to a long- reigning Coffs Harbour side.
The over 30s proved themselves more than worthy of the placement, being the closest challenging rival to the undefeated Coffs Harbour side, coming away with a draw mid-season in Bellingen’s second year of having an over 30s side in the competition.
Fighting for a grand final placement, experiencing playing on the premium pitch and the excitement of it all is reward in itself and a credit to both teams. Both teams ended up runners up on the day, their performances far from disappointing the cheering, excited Bello crowd.
Thanks to all the players and volunteers for a great season full of laughs. We hope to see the women’s squads continue to expand in future years.
