THE RESIDENTS of Valla in the north of the Nambucca Valley are proudly a quirky lot.
So there’d never be a dull moment for the postie on their rounds of the far from bland letterboxes in this semi-rural nirvana.
Guardian Editor Christian Knight – doing a letter drop for the local Valla Rural Fire Brigade – photographed some of the constructions.
Like many rural locations, there are an abundance of milk can mailboxes – but there’s a lot more than that too.
In fact everything from horses and a motorbike through to an echidna, a corner shop and an old microwave case.
Enjoy the gallery.
And Valla locals are warmly invited to the brigade’s Get Ready Weekend Open Day on Sunday from 10am to 1pm.
