On Saturday, October 6 there will be a Market Day and Car Boot Sale to raise funds for its ongoing maintenance and everyone is invited along, either as a stallholder or to have a browse, pick up a bargain and something good to eat.
Such events as well as the dedication of local volunteers over the past 110yrs is what has kept this community hall viable and functional.
The valley itself was settled in 1863 and named Gleniffer by early settler John McFadyen with the Gleniffer School of Arts Hall built by the Gleniffer community in 1908 on land donated by Nicholas Keough.
It was to be the social venue in the Gleniffer village where all residents could meet for events including weddings, dances and musical entertainment to name a few.
Businesses in the village at the time were a bakery, blacksmith, butcher, post office and general store and the still-used Gleniffer Community Church.
Today people from far and wide book the hall for business and private functions enjoying the high quality facilities not to mention its beautiful setting on the banks of the Never Never River.
Trading sites can be booked by email to the secretary glenifferhall.nsw@gmail.com or you could just come along from 9am-3pm and find a bargain, enjoy our sausage sizzle and homemade Devonshire tea.
