The 14s have had a strong season this year and have matured as a team since last season, with much improved passing and positional play.
They went into the semi-final third on the ladder after recording only three losses from 14 games this season. On paper, the two teams were closely matched with one victory apiece from their two previous encounters this season, but with Bello having scored more goals.
From the start, there was little to separate the two teams with the ball spending time at each end. A shot that went into the bottom corner of the net from a cross that floated in over everybody’s head proved to be a turning point and Bello dominated the second half.
With several more shots on target, the margin would have been much greater if it wasn't for some excellent work by the Woolgoolga goalkeeper. The 14s will now play Northern Storm Tornadoes to decide who will face Coffs Coast Tigers in the grand final.
