The post was a photograph of the school’s library display, and it was picked up by the Children’s Book Council of Australia.
Based on the Book Week theme of Find Your Treasure, the display was the work of school librarian, Angela Mills.
Relieving Principal, Leah Keough, said it was encouraging for staff and students that a small school of only 100 students should receive such national recognition.
“Our Book Week activities have been marked by the excellent level of participation and enthusiasm from our students,” Ms Keough said.
“Today, (Wednesday) many students came in costume representing their favourite literary character.
“The Tree House series of novels were quite popular while Harry Potter fans were very obvious.
“Lots of glitter and teased hair and plenty of creative work by parents.
“A marvellous week for the school and a great day for students.”
