The Lifehouse Church in Bellingen saw the need to locate a pantry in Urunga as many clients were finding it difficult to access the Bellingen pantry during their operating hours. The Anglican Church was approached to fill this gap in the community.
At present we have about 160 clients from the surrounding area visiting our pantry as the need arises.
The pantry is open to anyone with a pensioner or healthcare card and groceries can be purchased at highly reduced prices. Most grocery items are $2 or $1. We also have free bread, vegetables and fruit in season. We cater to a wide variety of people within the community from pensioners, families and Centrelink clients. We can help with special dietary needs if necessary.
Everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
The coordinators, Mrs Leonie Sills and Mrs Joyce Tarrant, would like to thank Kellie Small from the Bellingen Lifehouse Pantry as well as the many community members who have donated fresh food items such as vegetables, fruit and eggs. We greatly value your contribution over the last five years.
Come and join our celebration on 17th August at St Barnabas Anglican Church, 5A Bowra Street, from 11am – 1pm for a free sausage sizzle.
We look forward to continuing to serve our community.
