It was a fundraising event for teenagers based on the spirit of Kokoda (courage, endurance and mateship).
Walker Dianne Hutchinson said they began the trek at 1300 on Saturday, July 14, and walked through the night to finish 18 hours later at 7am on Sunday.
The women were backed all the way by their support crew Dixie Tipler and Claus Hoffman along with Amanda and Steve Williams.
“They toughed out the long wait and cold to feed us and warm us in preparation for the second half of the event,” Dianne said.
“All but one of us are members of the Repton RFS. We were sponsored by NCV Coffs Harbour who supplied us with a very comfortable support vehicle for the event.”
“The three of us completed the event very tired but happy with only a few blisters, some tired legs but very happy to finish the event intact and as a team. Thank you to everyone who supported us.”
