Queues formed long before the first note was played with visitors keen to get the best views of the fabulous lineup.
This included Mali’s Moussa Diakite, festival patron Jack Carty and the amazing young winner of the Youth Mentorship Program, Annalise Uren.
In his welcome, festival director Glenn Wright, emphasises the family-friendly nature of the event and the wide range of genres included in the musical mix.
“The festival is about music and fun and the greatest experience is gained with an open mind,” Glenn wrote.
“As Miles Davis said, ‘Do not fear mistakes, there are none’, so it is with the festival … if you don’t like a gig, there is another one around the corner or down the street.”
His hit picks include Tangents, Satsuki Odamura and the Sydney Koto Ensemble and Lillie Mae, to name a few.
