Two whales put on a beautiful display when they came in close at Tacking Point headland on June 9.
A crowd of about 50 people gathered to watch the gentle giants.
The whales took their time as they played for about 20 minutes, much to the delight of onlookers.
Photographer Ivan Sajko captured the images.
The whale migration occurs as the whales head north to breed before making their return journey south to Antarctica with calves in tow.
And just when onlookers thought the show couldn’t get much better, whale watchers on the Port Jet were treated to the most amazing sight.
Tash Morton captured the moment a whale breached right in front of the boat. It doesn’t get much better than that.
