Paul Dodd is disgusted his staff were treated so badly.
“All the customers had gone and two younger and one older man came through with a machete, and a samurai sword and a club and threatened all six staff.
“They grabbed one of the girls by her hair and pushed her. It was so scary, and I’m just glad they’re all okay. They got the takings, and I’ve put up a reward, hopefully to catch them,” he said.
Police are examining closed circuit television footage of the robbery.
At about 8.50pm on Sunday, three men with their faces covered entered the tavern on High Street at Timbertown and threatened staff who were in the process of closing.
The men were armed with a samurai sword, a machete and a wooden club.
They gathered all six staff members together – four men and two women – before forcing them to open a safe and then stealing cash.
They also stole three mobile phones and a bank card from the staff.
Barman Jack Parker said it was traumatic. He said they pushed the staff around, pulled one woman’s hair and pushed a sword against them.
“I felt this sharp thing at the back of my neck, and I turned round and it was three huge guys; they pointed a sword at me and went round the back and spooked the girls with the swords, roughing up everyone, whacking us with the bat. It was terrifying, very scary,” he said.
The men fled the scene in a vehicle described as a white-coloured late-model Subaru four-wheel drive.
The car was last seen travelling east on High St.
Police from Mid North Coast Police District attended and established a crime scene which was forensically examined.
Two of the staff members, a man and woman, sustained grazes and scratches during the incident; however, no staff required medical treatment.
