After weeks of researching, they came up with the idea of redesigning toilet doors with brightly coloured, positive messages of kindness and believing in yourself.
After running two ice cream sundae stalls to raise funds, a small group of Year 10 and 11 girls spent several days of their holidays sanding, priming and painting to create their surprise.
Plants and flowers were also added as well as fragrance diffusers and free sanitary products.
It is hoped their powerful messages will contribute to a sense of pride and looking out for each other.
On the first day of term, it was lovely to see everyone’s reactions to the surprise. It is hoped to extend this project to the boys’ toilet in future.
