The Dance for Parkinson’s class will be held at Sawtell Catholic Care of the Aged in Toormina on Sunday 15 April, from 10am until 11.30am.
The local class is based on the original Dance for PD® program with Jess Conneely, Dance 4 Wellbeing Program Director and member of Dance for Parkinson’s Australia.
In chairs, supported or standing, participants will explore elements of modern dance, ballet, tap and social dancing in an enjoyable, no pressure environment with musical accompaniment. No prior dance experience is necessary. The class is appropriate for anyone with Parkinson’s disease, no matter how advanced.
There will also be opportunity to have a cup of tea or coffee and talk with members of the local Parkinson's community and connect with other people with Parkinson’s disease.
The Dance for Parkinson’s class is free. Those wishing to attend are asked to register for the class before the day. For further information or to register your attendance contact Mid North Coast Local Health District Parkinson’s Nurse Consultant Vince Carroll on 6659 2300.
