Prizes over $1200 in value make it probably the biggest day of its kind for veterans in Australia.
The event is open to all amateur golfers who hold an AGU handicap aged 55+ and LGU members aged 50+.
It is a single stableford in three grades, sponsored by the C.ex group, with prizes for 1st , 2nd , 3rd and 4th in each grade plus nearest the pin vouchers.
As an added incentive all golfers who score 30 stableford points or more will receive a ball on handing in their card.
Entry fee is only $20 and a free sausage sandwich is available to all players between 10.30am and 1.00pm.
The Urunga course runs alongside the beautiful Kalang River on two sides and is generally regarded as easy walking although many veterans enjoy a cart and you can bring your own or hire one.
Full details of the day along with entry forms should be pinned on the notice board of all Mid North Coast clubs and a number of clubs outside the area covered by the Mid North Coast Veterans Golf Association who are assisting Urunga Veterans Golf Club in running the event.
Mid North Coast Vets members should book online through the booking website as usual and all others can use the form available at their clubs but be quick because there are a limited number of spaces available. If you can’t find an entry form at your club get in touch with C.ex Urunga Golf Club.
