Reflections Holiday Parks Mylestom is located in a pristine environment adjacent to the magnificent Bongil Bongil National Park and a stone’s throw from the beach and the river.
The holiday park, like many in the Reflections suite, prides itself on the provision of easy access facilities to create a positive holiday experience for all people – better footpaths, accessible camp kitchens and more accessible cabins are priorities in their park planning.
In 2016, the then managers of the park, Jack and Peggy Kelly, were presented with a Bellingen Shire Council Ian J. Cooper Award for Access and Inclusion.
Last year, Council purchased a Mobi-Chair, a high quality floating beach wheelchair that provides a seamless transition from board walk to beach. The chair is available to hire at no cost and all bookings can be made through Reflections Holiday Parks Mylestom on 6655 4250.
The chair can be transported and used at other beaches as it folds up to fit inside the boot of a standard size vehicle and is easy to assemble.
Hire of the chair is subject to reading the Assembly, Operation and Safety Manual, signing a hire agreement and providing contact details and identification, all of which are done upon collection of the chair at the holiday park.
Mayor Cr Dominic King said the provision and promotion of accessible features and resources in the Bellingen Shire is an action that has been identified in the Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2017 – 2021.
“This Plan provides the framework for Council to demonstrate its commitment to improving access and inclusion for all community members over the next 4 years,” Cr King said.
