Hundreds came with their families, picnics and blankets to enjoy performances by local pre-schoolers and primary students as well as 30 of the regions most talented musicians.
Under the baton of Musical Director Mei Wei Lim the program moved easily between community carols (with song sheets out of the Courier Sun) and first-class performances.
And then of course there was Santa and the fireworks.
Hosted by the Urunga-Mylestom Chamber of Commerce, the event showed yet again what a wonderful space the Urunga foreshore is … kids cartwheeled, chased each other, played on the swings and hung from the monkey-bars, large and small, all in together with their parents and grandparents not far away.
It was a lovely event in the spirit of this festive season.
