Both men's and women's teams started out strong and secured wins against Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Samoa, Fiji and Tonga, putting them both in first place after the round games.
With the men's team under the captaincy of Justin, the teams went into the last day of play and defeated Papua New Guinea and came away winning the Oceania Cup.
A fantastic achievement for both these athletes, who are once again representing their country.
Talissa has also been selected to represent Australia Country in the U23s Development Squad to play in Malaysia in January.
Season Success
Both Justin and Talissa play in the local competition in Coffs Harbour – Justin plays for Northern Beaches in Division 1 and Talissa for Southside Division 1 Hockey Clubs.
Both teams made grand finals and Justin was named Best and Fairest for the men's Division by the association.
Not to be outdone, Talissa was voted Players’ Player from her ladies team for the season.
Justin and Talissa also travel to Grafton each week to play in the men's and ladies premier league competition. Again, both their teams made the grand finals.
Justin's men's team Grafton City Bears also played interdict games against Lismore Association, where they were the first Grafton team to win the Premier League Competition.
