After winning the last three games and being on the top of the ladder, the Bellingen Kingfishers were feeling pretty confident going into this week’s game against the Coffs Souths Bullets.

But the Bullets game was firing and the Kingfishers were pushed to play their best netball. Bellingen was one point ahead in the first quarter, and also one point ahead at half time. By the end of the third quarter though, they had slipped to one point behind and by-crikey it was tense on the sidelines!

The last quarter slipped away from the Bello girls and the final score ended at 11 to 8 with the Bullets winning. The best and fairest coach award this week went to Amanda Sanders who played a number of positions throughout the game and moved the ball around with speed and precision.

But as the best sports minds will tell you, a loss in the game is not a total loss as long as you walk away with a lesson learned. So if you are passing by Connell Park this Wednesday, keep an eye out for the Kingfishers. They’ll be the ones doing some very intensive passing drills with coach Marc at their heels.
