The member for Oxley, Melinda Pavey,, said the club will receive $12,500 as part of the 2015/16 NSW Local Sport grant program.
“Sport is a huge part of our way of life and the NSW government recognises how important it is to our communities, for both social and health reasons,” Ms Pavey said.
“The main aim of this program is to increase regular and ongoing participation opportunities in sport and active recreation in NSW.”
Other successful 2017 Local Sport Grants recipients in Oxley were:
- Kempsey Golf Club Ltd - purchase turf utility vehicle; $5,000
- Kempsey Macleay Dragon Boat Club - purchase trailer and safety equipment; $3,261
- Kempsey Pistol Club Inc - range upgrade; $4,423
- Macksville-Scotts Head Surf Life Saving Club – purchase training water trampoline; $2,500
- Macleay Netball Association – course fees for coach development; $1,820
- Mid North coast Team Penning Association – upgrade cattle facilitates at Macksville showground; $10,406
- Nambucca Valley Archery Club Inc - upgrade lighting, safety butts, netting and signage at Macksville showground; $5,250
- South West rocks Netball Club – coach development courses; $840
- Wauchope Rugby Union Club – install change room hot water service; $4,000
“I look forward to seeing the benefits for the community of these projects and upgrade as they are put in place,” Ms Pavey added.
