A partnership of Local Control Authorities will host a free Weeds Forum at Nambucca RSL on Thursday 2nd March from 9.00 am. Bellingen Shire landholders, volunteers and anyone interested in controlling weeds will have the opportunity to hear from both researchers and local on-ground managers.
There will be a demonstration of the use of drones in weed detection, presentations on key weed species, and updates on bio-control and other projects from both State and local government as well as Landcare.
Bellingen Shire Mayor, Cr Dominic King said “Working together is the only way to beat invasive weeds and this forum is a great chance to share knowledge and ideas, and to make connections that help us all in this important work.”
The Forum is funded by the NSW Government Weeds Action Program, which targets invasive species that pose the biggest threat to the wonderful natural and economic resources of our Region.
