Volleyballers make their mark
For the first time in many years Bellingen High School (BHS) entered the NSWCHS Boys Volleyball competition.
The competition was held in Coffs Harbour on Tuesday, February 11 with four teams attempting to get through as the Mid North Coast champions.
The boys played some great volleyball at times, however, were a little inconsistent when it really mattered.
BHS were narrowly defeated in all their games but showed potential for next year, as the core of the team were from year 10 and 11.
There were some outstanding performances, which saw three players being nominated for possibles/probables game for Mid North Coast selection.
When the final team was announced two of BHS boys, Andrew Trist and Jonty Neaves were named in the team.
Brie Thomas also trialled for the girls team and was successful in selection.
This was a great result for the young volleyballers and, hopefully, this sets the scene for both a competitive boys and girls team in future years.
