Get acquainted with the amazing world of Australian Native Orchids and how to grow them with Australian native orchid expert Ray Clement of Tinonee Orchids, and learn the secrets of Natural Pest Control and Compost making with David Wilson of CROPO. These are some of the workshops (seating and shelter provided) at Bellingen’s 22nd Autumn Plant Fair on March 10.

Discover the fascinating world of Australian aboriginal bush foods, their traditional, culinary and medicinal uses, and how to use them to create wildlife habitat to attract native birds and animals to your backyard with Mark Flanders, National Parks Aboriginal Discovery Ranger.

Learn how to create soft, friable, healthy and fertile disease-resistant soil through soil testing, biology and structure, and root fungal associations in “Soil Health”` with Marc Percival and of Coffs Harbour TAFE Primary Industries.

Secrets of Permaculture in the home garden and farm will by revealed by Aleasa Williams along with ongoing powerpoint presentations at the Coffs Harbour TAFE Primary Industries Marquee. Organic Fair Trade Coffee and delicious cakes feature at the Coffee Stall run by Lisa Saligno and Tim.

Bellinger Landcare, Coffs Harbour TAFE Primary Industries, Coffs Regional Organic Producers Organisation (CROPO), Biodynamic Agriculture Australia, and Bellingen Seed Savers (promoting sustainable non-hybrid production and consumption of local food), are some of the information stalls at the Plant Fair along with 60 Nursery stalls selling an extensive variety of plants, equipment and supplies.

The Autumn Plant Fair on Saturday 10th March from 8 am until 2 pm at the Bellingen Market Park in Bellingen has over 60 Plant Nursery and Garden-related Stalls, Information Stalls, Workshops and Activities, lots of bargains and plenty of expert horticultural advice available.

Fine food, musicians, lots of activities, free entry, and the chance to win a barrow full of plants donated by the stallholders, make this a great day out for garden lovers.
