Carols event organiser Deb Rose is working tirelessly to organise the many things which makes it such a well-run event every year. Musical director Mei Wei Lim has been excitedly planning the musical program since the beginning of the year.
The schools section starts at 5pm, followed by a packed program featuring some of the best singers and instrumentalists from the area and beyond.
The program consists of mainly traditional carols, with roughly a third of the program including modern Christmas songs.
Children's performing group, The Giggles will be entertaining the kids before Santa's arrival. And the finale items will see all the performers return to the stage in their evening gowns and dinner jackets, to unite in joyful song before the magnificent fireworks display at 9pm.
As in the past few years, five specific 'community carols' have been chosen – Away In A Manger, Hark The Herald Angels Sing, Joy To The World, Silent Night, and O Come All Ye Faithful.
The audience is encouraged to join in with singing these famous carols, as well as any other songs on the night.
The lyrics of the five community carols will be published in the wrap-around issue of the Bellingen Courier-Sun on the Wednesday before the event. The lyrics are also available on our Facebook page 'carolsurungamusic' for people who prefer digital copies.
