During a Meet the Scientists session on Thursday October 26, community members will be able to meet real scientists who specialise in various fields relating to monitoring river health and saving threatened species, including the Bellinger River Snapping Turtle.
The team hopes it will be a great opportunity for people to ask any questions, learn more about the team’s work and gain insight into why they do what they do.
This will be followed by a community information session, where members of the Bellingen community can hear the latest about the Bellingen Riverwatch - Our Rivers, Our Future project.
Attendees will learn about what the project is trying to achieve, what data and outcomes it is contributing to and how the community can be involved.
Bellingen Riverwatch: Our River, Our Future is an innovative citizen science program, which aims to create opportunities for scientists and community to work together to monitor and care for the health of the Bellinger and Kalang Rivers.
