Congratulations go to Helen Hoffman on winning the event which, as the name suggests, is open to bowlers who have been playing for less than five years.
Since its inception in 2010, Helen is the third Urunga bowler to win, after Shirley Willis in 2014 and Janine Brown in 2015.
With the exception of a hard fought semi-final against Jo Evelyn of Scotts Head which Helen won on the last bowl 25/23, her other matches were less demanding the result in the final being 25/10 against Charmaine Venturi of Park Beach.
Well done to the other Urunga bowlers, Ros Hancock, Robin Adams, Joy Lambert and Lorraine Carlon who all played championship bowls.
Congratulations also go to Jo Bathgate, John Bradley and Helen and Jock Fisher on winning the Club Urunga Spring Carnival and to the team of Lynne and Brian Tarrant, Robin and Geoff Adams on winning one of the rounds.
The District Charity Letter Day will be held at the Coffs Ex Services Club on November 9 with entries closing October 20 and entry cost is $25. Apart from raffles etc. there will be a trading table and donations for sale will be appreciated.
The Consistency competition was set to start last Thursday but rain washed out bowls on that day. Please check the board for your matches.
