SPREADING AWARENESS: In World Down Syndrome Awareness month, support organisation T21 Mum Australia is asking people to consider how much they really know about the most common chromosomal condition.

It’s World Down Syndrome Awareness Month and support network T21 Mum Australia is looking to increase understanding of the hereditary condition through this touching video.

The video stars children with Down Syndrome whose radiant smiles light up the screen.

It aims to give viewers an insight into their lives and asks people to question what they really know about Down Syndrome, which is the most common chromosomal condition, with a diagnosis rate of 1:1100 births in Australia.

Despite the frequency of diagnosis, there is only limited and inconsistent information provided to parents at this time, which can be extremely daunting.

T21 Mum hopes to bring together new and expectant mums, as well as women who are alone and needing the connection to others to find the support they need.
