Owners Breana and Byron Vinecombe and the Black Bear team have recently completed a major revamp of the café just in time for summer.
Highlighted by large wall murals featuring local flora that brings together the entirely redesigned back dining area, complete with a new bench seating layout.
“It’s something we have been planning for a while” Breana said.
The purpose built bench seating made by a local carpenter provides more customised seating arrangements for large or small groups, as well as making the dining area more accessible for customers and staff.
“By teaming up with local tradesmen our vision has been realised” Breana said.
A new spring menu will be launched in the coming weeks featuring some of the shires fantastic produce.
“We try and keep things as local as possible” Chef Byron said.
Sourcing beautiful cold smoked salmon from Bellingen smokehouse and all salad greens coming in directly from their friend Jimmie’s farm in Boambee.
To complement the delicious menu is the Black Bear’s brand new collaboration with Sydney coffee roasters Will & Co.
Brewing Will & Co.’s signature 808 blend coffee through a unique glass paneled coffee machine.
The coffee beans are grown in rich volcanic soil giving them a smooth caramel finish.
If you’re after something a little different the black bear team also makes their own house blended chai and turmeric teas.
The Black Bear cafe also stocks a selection of teas from Coffs Harbours’ “Little Birdie” or try the spiced cacao, a perfect blend of Rainbow chai spices and rich cacao, a not so naughty hot chocolate.
Both the food and drinks menu cater to most dietary requirements.
Besides the normal milks the drink menu offers soy, coconut, almond, macadamia and lactose free milks, the breakfast and lunch menus also providing many gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options.
The warmer weather also brings new opening hours with the black bear café soon to be open seven days a week.
Recent customers rave about the quick friendly service and the delicious range of food choices.
“The best eggs benedict I've ever had. The staff were really friendly and the food was delicious with reasonable prices. It made our drive back down to Sydney much more enjoyable. I would rate them 10/10.” Jodi Gabay said.
