The Magpies dominated the first half and play was hardly ever out of the Roosters half. Time and time again the Magpies made breaks only to have their tag removed just before the line by desperate defence. In fact it was probably the best half of league tag this season. Midway through the half Abbey Osland managed to put the ball over the try line wide out after a very quick backline movement. The Magpies were up 4-0.
The second half opened up as both defences tired and tags were being missed. This meant play went from end to end all half. With five minutes to go the Roosters evened up the score at four apiece diving over from dummy half.
At full time the scores were even so the game went into golden point extra time. Once again the Magpies made several breaks through the Rooster defence only to be tagged by the last line of defence. The teams swapped ends after five minutes with the scores still even.
After another ten minutes or so the Roosters finally got into position where they could kick a field goal. They they took the chance and the Magpies were unfortunately eliminated from this season’s competition.
