It is expected that the Bellingen Administration Building system will produce around 78,000 kilowatt (kW) hours per year, with an annual average of around 215kW hours/day, which equates to approximately a third of its energy needs.
The system at the Raleigh Works Depot is expected to produce around 83,000kW hours per year with an average of around 227kW hours/day, covering 100 per cent of the building’s energy needs.
Bellingen Shire Mayor, Cr Dominic King said the completion of the large site solar system installations was a great step forward for council to meet its emission reduction and energy efficiency targets for the shire.
“This is a great example of a small regional community’s capacity to achieve tangible outcomes in addressing climate change,” Cr King said.
