In addition to running the annual Camp in January, Camp Creative supports many community events and projects including the Mantova Art Prize, Bellingen Fine Music Festival as well as scholarships and mentoring for young people in art and music programs.
The next round of grant applications will be advertised in July.
Application forms and guidelines are on the website.
Recently Camp Creative funded a scholarship program aimed to support young musicians performing with the Bellingen Youth Orchestra.
Orchestra members are used to playing as a large group, but don’t always get the opportunity to showcase their individual talents.
Co-ordinator David Neville said players had a chance to perform as individuals.
“They selected and rehearsed their own choice of music and the spotlight was on each of them … it is a whole new set of performance skills!” David said.
“The scholarships offer financial respite for many families as they chase tuition fees, transport costs and new musical instruments for growing children.
“It is a fantastic boost to confidence and a recognition of the hard work these young musicians are putting in. We would like to thank Camp Creative for their continued support of the youth in our local community.”
Scholarship recipients are Sasha Eberding, Airlie Cullen, Ziggy Taylor, Tarni St John, Charlotte Wilkins and Jessie O'Connor.
