Lismore will host an exclusive Barbarians Rugby match when the famous international team tours NSW in October.

The Minister for Tourism and Major Events Adam Marshall and Member for Lismore Thomas George said the fixture, secured by the NSW Government, would be a huge boost and unique event for the region.
“This will prove a huge draw card for the region, attracting thousands of visitors to the area and tourist dollars into the pockets of local business people,” Mr Marshall said.
“I am also pleased to announce that all proceeds from ticket sales will go towards flood relief for the town, supporting the local community as it continues to recover from the severe weather in March.”
Australian Rugby Union CEO Bill Pulver said the Classic Wallabies will be made up of a combination of past Wallabies, including flanker Stephen Hoiles, along with some of the best up and coming players from the National Rugby Championship.
The Barbarians team will comprise of international rugby stars and will be coached by broadcaster and former Wallabies coach Alan Jones.
The Barbarians will take on the Classic Wallabies Tuesday, October 24 at Crozier Field in Lismore. Tickets will be on sale from Monday, July 24 via www.visitlismore.com.au for the Lismore match.
