After the disappointing results against Coffs Harbour the Magpies performed much better against the Woolgoolga Seahorses. The Ladies League Tag team returned to the winner’s list and both Reserve and First Grade were stronger with more players turning up.

The Magpies made much of the early running in First Grade but could not convert the pressure into points until Cameron Blair sliced through a gap to score under the posts. Luke Beaumont converted and the Magpies led 6-0.
A run of penalties against the Magpies then allowed the Sea Horses to get on top with the score being left at 34-6 at the break.
The Magpies tightened up their defence in the middle of the second half and with possession and penalties turning their way the Sea Horses could only score fourteen points while Luke Suter scored two tries and Tyson Morris one. Luke Beaumont converted one of these and Cameron Blair the other to make the final score 48-22 to Woolgoolga.
Reserve Grade was much the same with the Magpies exerting all the pressure after Woolgoolga scored an early try. John Lynwood replied with a try and a goal and the Magpies took the lead 6-4. Woolgoolga then went ahead 16-6 before Alex Dungay scored a clever try for the Magpies, John Lynwood converted and the Magpies trailed 16-12. Lack of condition then allowed Woolgoolga to score twice leaving the score 26-12 at oranges.
A Sam Turner try and a John Lynwood goal early in the second half gave the Magpies some hope at 26-18 but the Sea Horses ran away with the game 48-18.
In League Tag the Bellingen Ladies were constantly attacking down in their 20 metres for what seemed like an eternity but could not convert to points after consecutive sets of six. Finally Abbey Osland scored for the Ladies League Tag Team in what was a tight first half to have the score at 4-0.
However the game came alive in the second half when Woolgoolga evened up the score early on 4-4. Then Bellingen seemed to get it altogether with Tina McRae scoring and Maia Berry scoring two tries. Sarah Beaumont converted all three allowing the Ladies to win 22-4.
