Show your mum how much you appreciate her this Mother’s day.
Take a stroll and view the Sculpture in the Park exhibit. Free for the public to attend, the art exhibition is proudly brought to you by The Urunga Mylestom Chamber of Commerce on Sunday May 14, from 10am – 3pm.
The artistically formed sculptures will be located at Morgo Street Reserve, opposite the Ocean View Hotel.
Many of the artists that produced last year’s prize winning works of art will be back, along with some new and exciting sculptors.
The theme is for artists to demonstrate environmental awareness and sustainability in their concepts, through the use of recycled materials.
$2100 worth of prizes will be given to the winners of the different categories, including the grand prize sponsored by the combined Urunga businesses.
The difficult task of judging winners will be taken on by Shan Blake, who has a long career as a practicing artist, teacher, gallery owner and arts administrator on the Mid North Coast and Jeremy Sheehan, who is head teacher of visual arts at the Coffs Harbour Southern Cross Arts Campus.
Live musical performances will take place on the stage during the event from 11am–2pm, with two bands, The Jug Addicts and Brett Iggulden and The Night Hawks and The Urunga Riverside Markets will be on during the day.
This year, voting for the People’s Choice prize will extend voting time to the entire day, with the winner announced in the following Courier Sun newspaper.
