Shame ... shame ... shame and even more shame on the deaf and disrespectful members of Bellingen Shire Council who have now ordered and coldly arranged the execution of our grand old citizens ... those graceful trees of Bellingen town.

Shame on pretending to represent the people who voted for them, the same people who have pleaded and petitioned to save the trees over and over again.
Shame on their blatant deceit, their fully unreasonable blindness and deafness to the wants, the needs and the wishes of the very folk they are there to support and assist.
While, at this sad time in history, when any tree nurtured or saved is a undeniable blessing to us all, the aged trees of Bellingen have been signed for destruction.
Their only crime: adding grace, shade and living character to the street they call home.
I will not name names. They know exactly who they are and exactly what they have done.
Their folly is now marked and set in place; the killing ordered, the date set, the unwitting executioner smuggled in from elsewhere (no local would swing that axe!).
Their decision is set in ink. It is a black mark. And it will not go away!
With such treachery, thoughtless chicanery and utter disrespect afoot in local government, is it any wonder we are losing all faith and all interest in our so-called leaders?
This present council has done its dash.
No crawling back into favour now.

Chopping down the Church Street Camphor Laurels is OUR equivalent of removing the Plane Trees from the Royal Mall in London, and all the Palms that grace the skyline of Los Angeles and Hollywood.
Stupid, but Council don't care, they'll be gone in a tick!
