A woman has died following a single vehicle crash near Grafton this afternoon.

About 1pm (Wednesday 19 April 2017) a Daihatsu wagon was being driven in a southerly direction along Summerland Way about 25km north of Grafton.
It appears the car has left the roadway and struck a tree before crashing down an embankment.
The female passenger was trapped and treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, died at the scene.
The male driver was taken to Lismore Base Hospital suffering chest injuries and is in a stable condition. He will undergo mandatory drug and urine testing.
Crash Investigation Unit are at the scene.
A brief will be prepared for the information of the Coroner and investigations are continuing.
