Tim Silverwood will be the special guest at the Bello LeaF festival

Bello Winter Music is once again partnering with the Bellingen Shire Learning Alliance (BSLA) to present Bello LeaF – a program of sustainability and environmental workshops, tours and forums that will run alongside the 2017 festival.

A highlight guest this year is leading environmentalist Tim Silverwood who is at the forefront of a global movement to tackle plastic pollution, particularly in our oceans.

Silverwood, an avid surfer, co-founded the organisation ‘Take 3 for the Sea’ after witnessing the alarming increase of plastic in and around our oceans and the subsequent threats this poses to our wildlife.

As CEO of Take 3, he aims to reduce plastic pollution through education and participation by asking people to simply take three pieces of rubbish with them when they leave the beach, waterway, or anywhere.

“We are thrilled to have Tim Silverwood as the first ever LeaF Patron,” said Bello LeaF Director, Lisa Siegel.

“I met Tim in Bello quite a few years ago when his ‘Take 3 For the Sea’ campaign was just taking off and he has gone from strength to strength, really getting his message out there both nationally and internationally.

“Bello Winter Music goers are really going to enjoy having Tim at the festival and there will be quite a few opportunities to meet him, so don't miss out!”

Bello LeaF events are free for festival ticket holders and are available to non-ticket holders by donation on the day.

Registration is recommended for popular Bello LeaF events.
