This year’s show will be held on the week-end of November 25-26 with the central focus on the horticultural industry.
Retiring committee President, Sally Duckett, has indicated she will stand for re-election and has urged all society members to attend the meeting.
“We want to establish a strong commitment to this year’s show and this commitment should begin at our first meeting of the year with as many people as possible participating,” Mrs Duckett said.
“Last year’s drive for new members and those with special expertise was successful and we want to build on our achievement and make certain 2017 will be one of the best shows ever.
“I am especially encouraged to learn that all stewards from 2016 have indicated they will be available this year.
“These people will, bring a significant level of experience and expertise to the running of the show.”
This year’s spotlight on horticulture will focus on promoting the industry, especially local businesses.
A part of the showground will be set aside to promote these businesses and allow them to display, promote or sell their products.
It will also provide direct access between producers and the public.
Last year’s show focused on the beef industry and was an outstanding success with at least 13 beef breeds represented in the judging ring
This year’s show will be the town’s 106th exhibition.
