Harmony Day is celebrated on March 21 every year. It is a day to celebrate our diverse and multicultural society – a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home.
The message of Harmony Day is ‘everyone belongs’, and the event aims to engage people to participate in their community, respect cultural and religious diversity and foster a sense of belonging for everyone.
This year, Bellingen Neighbourhood Centre and Bellingen Shire Council are hosting a Harmony Day celebration. All are invited to a Picnic in the Park at Maam Gaduying – Meeting Place (council grounds in Bellingen).
If it is raining, we will have the picnic in the Memorial Hall. Bring a rug and a plate of food to share, get your face painted or design and paint a shirt (bring one along). The Harmony Day celebration is from 11am and ends mid-afternoon.
