Kempsey boxer Renold Quinlan has fallen in the 10th round in his first IBO Super Middleweight title defence against Chris Eubank Junior.
The former world champion wore an onslaught of punches throughout the later rounds but showed his toughness by taking the damage and continuing to stay in the contest.
However, Quinlan was tiring and backed up on the ropes in round 10 and referee Howard Foster had seen enough and called for a stop to the fight.
Eubank Junior proved to be the superior fighter with his experience and speed causing Quinlan problems throughout the bout.
Quinlan was able to have success with his left jab and combinations but ultimately he wasn’t able to get the upper hand at any stage throughout the match.
It was the second loss of Quinlan’s career and he now holds a professional record of 11-2.
